When I first tried this oil, I didn’t think I liked it but I gave it a couple more tries and now I love it! Okay, it doesn’t have any SPF in it but otherwise, it’s a lovely light moisturizer for face or body.
Always clean your work area well before you start and then wipe down again with some alcohol on a cotton pad. Wash hands well. Rinse out your bottles with alcohol and let them air dry. I like to put down a piece of paper towel to mop up any spills and keep my counter less greasy and makes clean-up quicker.
Light Moisture Oil
Recipe makes about 4 oz.
1.5 oz jojoba oil (Simmondsia Chinensis) 45 ml
1 oz glycerin 30 ml
1 oz witch hazel (Hamamelis Virginiana) 30 ml
1/2 oz rosewater 15 ml
Mix the ingredients together in something that can be heated.
Bring to a boil and remove from heat. Allow to cool. If you pour hot oil into some plastic bottle, they just melt if temperature is too high.
When I have several bottles to fill, I pour my mix into a plastic squeeze bottle as it must be shaken to keep the oils distributed evenly and pour evenly into several bottles. Think of it as a nice homemade vinaigrette or salad dressing for the face! Here it is showing the natural separation.
Just shake gently as, it’s mixed and ready to use.
My little sample gift bottles ready to label. The back row shows separation and front row shows shaken so just shake ‘em up every time you want to pamper your face or that dry winter skin with this nice moisture oil.
The finished products with nice little labels I printed for them at my local copy shop.
