I searched out this wonderful gal who lives in a nearby town. Happily she agreed to meet me for a photo session. She has a wonderful sense of drama and personal flair and a whole closet of exotic costumes and clothes!

This double portrait painting features the stone bust sculpture from a visit to the Getty Museum in Los Angeles a couple of years ago. It’s great when artifacts from the past connect in sizzling new ways with images and ideas from today.

I worked on some of the costume areas with some stencils that have been in my studio for years, surfacing every now and then in artwork, wearables or home decor. The oil paint worked very well with these plastic stencils and clean up was easy as I use water mixable oil paints.
