Abstract landscape painting in palette knife oils, watercolor and mixed media from near Vancouver, BC to colorful Mexico and beyond, see more in travel painting.
Colorful abstract landscapes are coming into view. I live the Pacific Northwest with glorious views of sparkling fabulous water, sea and skyscapes every day. What a blessing.
My clever Panasonic Lumix DMC-LX7 is always handy and I dash out onto the deck to try to capture the incredible skyscapes, cloudscapes that the Pacific Northwest offers me daily.
2017 brought the passing of my darling husband. I gave myself permission to step away from figurative works and reconnect with my love of boats. A life long boater, I’ve been photographing them for years. My camera captures their shapes and textures, the sparkle of light on water. A new body of work has begun, the West Coast world with glorious sunrises and sunsets, forests, fishing boats, fishing trawlers, sailboats.
I’m excited to use digital painting now for plein air! I also use a variety of pens, waterbrush pens, China marker for resist and watercolors. I made some tiny watercolor boxes and toss them into my small shoulder bag for quick sketching trips.
