Travel painting

Travel painting, colorful oil paintings from my travels to beautiful places far and near, Mexico, England, Spain and beyond.

Studio travel paintings in oils with palette knife, scrapers, textures and plein air works in oils, watercolor and digital painting.

I travel with my Panasonic LUMIX DMC-LX7 around my neck, grabbing as much travel photography as I can. I like to play with aspect ratio and artistic filter right when I’m shooting, looking good composition on the fly.

From my home base in Pacific Northwest, I enjoy trips to warmer climates in winter months. Early 2018 saw me studying Spanish and plein air painting for 5 weeks in beautiful Guanajuato, Mexico. Plein air painting with the quick time frame really pushes an artist to work hard and evolve fast, feeding the soul for life back home in the studio with more time, space and tools.

I’ve been luck enough to pack my suitcase for Mexico, England, France, South Africa, Japan. Where my next travel art trip take me?
