I worked my way into their hearts when I made several character costumes for the company and have been photographing them since they began in 2012. They are such an inspiring dedicated group of young girls and boys, women and men, suited up and made up to bring the magic of the Nutcracker to life, bringing the miracle of real snow falling on stage in Sechelt, BC each winter.
Sometimes I work with camera filters that enhance the already vibrant colors, working with a few cameras at once, using whichever gives me the effect I want at that moment. All effects are taken at capture using camera artistic filter settings at time of shooting rather than adding them later in Photoshop so I’m actually experiencing the enriched vibrant colors and contrasts in real time, so beautiful!
