Dancers On Glass
Oil paint on plexiglas, wire, ribbons, objects
2013
10.5 x 27 inches
Painting on glass is done working from the top layers backwards which creates some very interesting and unexpected results. The highlights and dark outlines are first to go on and eventually the whole was scratched through and a dark layer put on the back to create some fine dark lines.
I volunteered to help out a local ballet company over the Holiday 2012 season. I created 5 costumes for them and helped in the dressing room over their marvelous 8 performance run. My reward was being able to take some wonderful photographs of the ballet dancers on stage and in the dressing room.
This is the first painting to come from that Nutcracker Ballet performed at Gibsons Heritage Playhouse by the Coasting Along Ballet Company under the very capable hands of David and Kathleen Holmes.
Bravo one and all!!
