Riley 3
Acrylics painting on canvas
2008
24 x 36 inches
Lively image of interpretive free form dancing by Riley, a young girl.
The writings in the background come from entries from my travel journals from my adventurous years. I liken the risk factor of crossing the Atlantic under sail on a 57 foot sailboat at 20 and many other fearless things I have done over the years to walking a tightrope without a safety net. Riley puts herself out there each time she dances to her own rhythm and design in public.
It is also part of the creative process each time we bring an artwork to life. That little element of risk certainly adds some spice to life. Mine has been anything but dreary. Hey, dreary might have been just fine sometimes but I just never had the time for it!
