Wearable art coat.
Adapted from Christine Jonson pattern Easy Coat 122.

Green fake fur art circus coat. Wearable art “great coat” made from very soft fake fur, fake shearling fur. I call this one my Fake Fendi because of Fendi’s undeniable mastery of real fur.
This one is completely washable (by hand please) and the cost of materials was around $100.
This is adaption of the great Christine Jonson Easy Coat pattern but with softly pleated tiers below the waist and all kinds of original embellishments.
The little pink dangling tails are made from longer fake fur, cut in a strip and sewn shut on the back.
Imagine the tiny little pink Dynelles (like Pokemons?) who sacrificed themselves for this fun fake fur coat! I just hope the anti-fur campaigners will be able to see that it’s not a real fur!
Seams are butted and stitched with 2 lines of straight stitch, very easy and creates lovely flat seams with zero bulk.
Nice big zipped pockets with the reverse side showing, a sort of slick snakeskin look.
Buttonholes created with techniques from Koos Van Den Akker’s book Couture Collage.
I always add a few reflectors here and there so that I can be seen at night. I buy flat sheets or tape and cut it into some simple shapes and just straight stitch it on here and there.

The last photo shows my coat hanging securely by the hanging tape at back of the neck. Never hang coats just on the hook or the back could become deformed and could actually break right through with the weight of the coat.
