Children by El Jardin

San Miguel de Allende, Mexico, plein air watercolor painting

Waxy China marker, watercolors on watercolour paper
2014

These kids watched as I sketched and painted the building near El Jardin so eventually I asked them to sit still for a few minutes and did this one of the two of them and gave it to them while their mother looked on as she sold her wares under a big umbrella. The little guy had his fingers in the paints and we had a swell time with sign language and comical gestures and my little bit of Spanish.
