This lovely cool courtyard by the SMA Starbucks near El Jardin offered a great place to sit in the shade and paint… as well as handy and sometimes hard to find public toilets.

These balladeers in cowboy dress sang to the many tourists who dropped in to see the historic outdoor wash house or Lavanaderia as we worked on our plein air paintings. I had finished my oils stick painting and had time to capture this couple in my small watercolor block while I waited for the others to finish their works. A grand day, complete with singers and audience!
